Japan has many travel hotspots, but an important thing to decide first is where you want to go, and the appropriate JRRAIL Pass to get.
The image to the left shows the Shinkansen lines. The website for purchasing these is, http://www.japan-rail-pass.com/ Note*** JRRAIL passes MUST be bought BEFORE going to Japan. |
A few good hot spots to check out include but are not limited to the following. Mount Fuji, stands 12,388 feet tall (3,776 meters) and is Japan’s highest mountain, and can be climbed during the summer season. With spectacular 360-degree views of Lake Ashinko, the Hakone mountains, and the Owakudani Valley, climbing Mt. Fuji is an unforgettable experience. I have been myself, and I enjoyed the view immensely. Take water, and a jacket, even with temperatures as high as 40C in summer, the top is still cold. Kyoto, Japan's most popular destination for visiting old temples, and architecture, the photo to the left should provide all the inspiration one needs to visit. Heading to Hiroshima in the South one will see the dreadful reminder of the travesties of war, the Hiroshima Dome. May it stand as a reminder for all time a representation of the stupidity of War. The farthest south would be Okinawa most famous for it's beautiful beaches, clear skies, and beautiful ocean water. Northern Japan is not without it's beauty. Hokkaido is surely to satisfy in winter sport or activity you can imagine, and don't think you will miss out on great things if you visit Japan in winter alone, the best time to visit Hokkaido is in February for the Snow Festival |
