The stereotypical high-school student in Japan:
-In Japan, school is strictly a must for young people to attend in the eyes of the elder generation, and since respect for elders is a big thing in Japan, especially implemented in high-school life, students spend a great deal of energy on making good grades in school. However, many Japanese students stereotypically sleep in their classes, as well as simply skip class completely.
-The typical female student in japan often comes off as shy, and cute as opposed to outgoing and intelligent, because the Japanese view of women is that of cute and elegant.
-The stereotypical male student might dye his hair a lot compared to western guys. Also, it seems most students know how to use tech devices (such as cell phones) really well.
Here is a list of what students tend to do after school, in order of most to least likely:
1. Go drink alcohol and sing karaoke
2. Go home or to arcades to play video games
3. Intramural sports clubs and activities
4. work part time jobs
It often appears that hardly anyone studies seriously, so why not study Japanese language and go to Japan?
It seems to be less stressful than American college life.
